I am Mark Anthony Vollelunga. Music is definitely my passion. I love writing it, composing it, playing it, and listening to it. It has been a major aspect of my entire life. My first musical experience was at Fiesta Texas in the winter of 1994. I auditioned for a singing/acting job, and won the part I tried out for. At that point in time God had blessed my voice tremendously. I moved on to join the San Antonio Men and Boys' Choir. We traveled nationally and internationally performing quite often. I put singing on the back burner when I began high school. I wanted to learn how to play an instrument, so I ordered a guitar with a built in amp. It was pretty sad, but I grew to love playing it more and more. Before I knew it, I was practicing all the time. I would stay home on weekends because I |
wanted to play my guitar. It was great because my older
brother, Alex, was very good at drums. We would jam every once in a while,
and it was a lot of fun. We mainly played Metallica stuff because that was
all I really knew at first. I was really into anything that had a crazy
guitar solo in it. |

Jonny's band, Undersiege, was really talented at what they did. They said they already had a singer, but he wasn't committed enough. I responded by telling them that I could sing and soon I was admitted. That same night I wrote lyrics to our first song. I figured that I could sing and play guitar for the band. I mean I was very experienced in the singing aspect of music. I thought I could write pretty good vocal patterns and what not, but the problem was that after my voice had changed from super high to low I didn't have that good of a voice anymore. You see I was a soprano before my voice changed. I was one of those guys who sang insanely high. Anyway, they agreed with my decision to sing at first, but about a year later I decided that I should retire my job as singer and just concentrate on guitar. Although I still seem to love writing lyrics and if you know me at all - I love to sing. I jam out in the shower. However, there seemed to be one problem with the band that I now joined - there was another guitarist, Josh. We seemed to get along fine, but to me he was just competition at first. For some reason I wanted to prove myself and show him up. At every practice I would solo like crazy and always talk about how I knew so many solos from other songs. He would solo back, but it didn't seem to affect him. He always acted really cool and laid back. Eventually, I grew up and knew that if I wanted to be committed, I would have to work with him and not against him. Now Josh and I have fun trying to write parts to songs where we both do complicated stuff. I know now God has a plan for every one of us. I know His plan for me was Undersiege and now Nothing More. I also know I am nothing more without Him. I love this band.

Hobbies
Well, I obviously like to play/write music. I also like to play Ultimate Frisbee. It is definitely the best sport on the planet. I hope it eventually turns into a national pro sport. I am also a fanatic of hiking and stuff like it. I love spending time with people too. It's always good to meet new people. But I would have to say video games are the best. I am a fanatic of all RPG games. I love all the Final Fantasy's and stuff like it. My favorite game is ChronoTrigger. It's old school, but it has the best story and combined fighting system ever. Favorite Quote: "Crunchy peanut butter is creamy peanut butter, but with more to it." Oh, and I love bread... |
